Who is Rocking the Spectrum?
Our website address is: https://rockingspectrum.com.
The blog Rocking the Spectrum (RtS) is managed and administrated by Elias V Lind.
Any questions can be directed to email@example.com
You can always see the contributors on the RtS Contributors page and their contribution will be exchanged outside Rts and they will not gain access to the data collected by the blog.
What personal data I collect and why I collect it
You are able to comment on each blog post and as such data will be collected in the internal database. It will consist of the data shown in the comments, and IP adresses and browser user agent strings to avoid unnecessary spam.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you will opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
This applies to but it not limited to eg. social media links.
Google Analytics is used to gather information about the different pages you visit, how long you stay there, which search words you may use and how you entered the site. This information is used strictly to optimize your experience and to produce relavant content.
For instance, it was Google Analytics tools that showed me that I started to get readers outside of Denmark – and therefore I switched to writing in English.
Jetpack is used to collect similar data as Google, but is provided in my website dashboard.
It is possible via Jetpack to sign up for a blog, but I have chosen to not use that feature. Therefore, no strictly personal data such as your email or name is stored, but IP adresses and similar informations like Google Analytics will be collected for site improvement only.
When you opt-in to receive my newsletter and receive notifications of new posts on the blog, you agree to share your email adress.
To maintain this service for my followers I need nothing more than an email, unless I do some competitions or give-aways, where I might need to ask for additional information. Requirements for additional data will be noted explicitly before you join such an event.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
In terms of MailChimp your mail adress is kept indefinitly, UNLESS you choose to unsubscribe, which you can always do by following the link in the bottom of every newsletter.
In the case of the blog terminating, all information will be deleted.
There are no hard copies of any data.
In the case of competition and likewise, where I may need an address, your information will of course be on a physical paper for the shipment, but will only be kept until I am certain you have received the package.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an overview of which comments you have made and which other – if any – data I may have.
You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I’m obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
I do not sell data to third parties, but be advised that following external links on this site, will take you to other websites – and as such into third party privacy policies.
I strongly recommend to visit their policies, as you enter the third party website.
Your contact information
If you are using contact forms on this website, in order to reply, we need your contact information.
The conversation will be stored for a year, incase of any follow ups and after that deleted.
At any time can you request to have the data erased.
How we protect your data
The Rocking the Spectrum blog is set up with firewalls, malware protection and spam protection. I run daily security checks and keep my security updated.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
I use the data to improve the blog by:
- Knowing from where my readers come
- having an estimate of gender and age distribution, which gives me a rough estimate of whether or not my content suits my typical reader
- which device and browser is used to make sure that any changes I make take them into consideration
- time spent on a page to catch glitches and get knowledge of more popular posts
- which platform or website you arrive from in order to optimize my future marketing
If you receive my newsletter, you will be notified of the specific changes.
You can always see the update history at the end of this policy.
If you are not signed up for the newsletter, I urge you to visit this site from time to time to see if you still can agree to the terms.
In the unlikely case of any data being relevant to any crime investigation or otherwise required by law, and ONLY in this case – all of the above is set aside and law will be abided. This should be of no concern if you are a law abiding citizen.
